The writing style of "Oedipus Rex" is very sympathetic and oedipus rex writing style, because of it being a Tragedy play, oedipus rex writing style. Because this play has no narrator, Sophocles has to use characters and their voices for style, and their emotions are what come out from it.

When Oedipus finds out that he caused the crimes and fulfilled his prophesy, he is distraught, but owns up for what he does. Oedipus' emotions and his guilt is very apparent and you can't help but feel bad for him because of the fact that he never knew that Laius and Jocasta were his actual parents.

He finished a prophesy unintentionally when he thought he had ran away from it, and now he's punished for what he has done, even though on the inside, he is innocent. Secondly, Sophocles added secondary characters in the play in order to create critical situation, which directly or indirectly oedipus rex writing style Oedipus towards the real truth of his life from that he is blinded.

Sophocles made minor characters to Terresia, creon and last but not the least the shepherd. Sophocles shows Terresia as a messenger of Appolo, who is regarded as a god in the play. For creating such situation in the play, oedipus rex writing style, Sophocles uses Terresia in order to provide some clues to Oedipus about his curse and crime, which he committed mistakenly.

When Terresia comes in the play as a messenger, he receives respect and honors from Oedipus as in the Greek gods and their messengers mostly receive respect and honors.

Sophocles shows Terresia as clam, honest and trustworthy in the play. Terresia discloses the truth time to time as most of the time he speaks in such a way that Oedipus becomes hyper too. But, Sophocles, on the other hand, oedipus rex writing style, shows Terresia in the play as not trustworthy in some occasions like when creon advises to Oedipus to call Terresia for solving the misery, he uses that Terresia might solve the problem not will solve the problem, which clearly shows that there was some flaws in the minor character of Sophocles.

The very secondary character after Terresia is Creon who spends more time onstage in these three plays than any other character except the Chorus. Sophocles reveals Creon presence is so constant and his words so crucial to many parts of the plays that he cannot be dismissed as simply the bureaucratic fool he sometimes seems to be.

Rather, he represents the very oedipus rex writing style power of human law and of the human need for an orderly and stable society. No-doubt, when we first see Creon in Oedipus the King, Creon is shown to be separate from the citizens of Thebes, oedipus rex writing style. He tells Oedipus that he has brought news from the oracle and suggests that Oedipus hear it inside.

Sophocles shows Creon as the secretive, businesslike air of a politician, which stands in sharp contrast to Oedipus, who tells him to speak out in front of everybody. At lines —, Sophocles shows that Creon argues that he has no desire to usurp Oedipus as king oedipus rex writing style he, Jocasta, and Oedipus rule the kingdom with equal power—Oedipus is merely the king in name.

Thirdly, Sophocles also shows Louis as one of the main character in Oedipus rex in which Sophocles drama based.

Louis, who was the King of Thebes as Sophocles showed in Oedipus rex, killed in the hand of his biological son named Oedipus. Related Papers Sophocles: King Oedipus By Nikhil Kumar.
